The Environment

Chapel Hill Winery and The Retreat are entirely in the Hills Face Zone. On the basis of careful planning, particularly with respect to its impact on the environment, approval was gained in 2003 for Chapel Hill Winery to build The Retreat, our residential cooking school and small conference and meeting venue on the winery and vineyard site.

Set into the hillside, constructed from stone in browns and greys using recycled materials, The Retreat construction is cognisant of minimising its impact on its vineyard environs.
